Here's Every Product to Re-Create Olivia Munn's Stunning Look at the 2017 VMAs
Actress Olivia Munn is always serving up gorgeous looks on the red carpet, so it was no surprise that she brought the heat last night at the MTV Video Music Awards. While the majority of celebs chose to go with muted pink and soft nude lips, Munn decided to go bold and wear a deep berry lip.
Even though we’re all holding on to the last days of summer, her wine-colored lip has us looking forward to fall. We love that she paired the sultry shade with effortless beach waves and a dewy glow. Talk about stunning. Keep scrolling to find out how to re-create her look.
Munn also didn’t play it safe in the fashion department—she rocked a fun, multicolored minidress—so her makeup artist, Patrick Ta, based her look off of that. “The dress was our inspiration for the makeup and hair,” Ta said in a statement. “With her hair cut short, I wanted to keep the makeup subtle with a bronze eye and berry colored lip and cheeks to compliment [sic] the floral dress.”
To get Munn’s luminous glow, Ta prepped her skin with a heavy moisturizer for extra hydration. Next, he applied her foundation with a dense brush to get a dewy effect. Using a small blending brush, he lightly contoured her cheekbones with Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base ($50). He accentuated the apples of her cheeks by applying two blushes: Chanel Powder Blush in Rouge Profound ($45) and Chanel Powder Blush in Vibration ($45). Ta finished her glow off by dabbing a bit of Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in Sable ($30) on the high points of her cheekbones.
“I wanted to keep the eyes very natural and fresh,” Ta explained. For the base of her lids, he blended Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow ($36) in Memory and then applied Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow ($61) in Road Movie on her crease. To set her creamy eye shadow look, he layered Chanel Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow ($30) on top of her lid with the shades Beat, Bronze Antique, and Sable. Then he curled her lashes and topped them off with Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara ($32) in Noir. To glam up her eyes even more, he tacked on Ardell individual lashes ($10). To clean up her brows, he shaped them with Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil ($29).
Munn’s lips were obviously the focal point of her glam. Ta achieved Munn’s stunning berry lip with two deep shades. He paired Chanel Rouge Allure Intense Long-wear Lip Colour in Ultraberry ($37) with Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres Precision Lip Definer in Seduction ($31).
