11 New Beauty Launches We're Obsessing Over in October
It’s that time of year again: the time when we ask ourselves, Where did summer go?! With the dipping temps outside and wind-chill factor growing, we’re welcoming October with open arms (but also sadly bidding adieu to our cutoffs until next year). With colder temperatures comes a beauty routine upheaval as we swap our light-as-air moisturizers for heavy-duty creams, our silks and satins for cashmere and whatever material fuzzy socks are made out of. This month, we’ve got our eye on 13 obsession-worthy new beauty launches, all of which put us in a very fall spirit. From three perfect new Ilia lip colors to a new Nars collection that will induce feelings of extreme lust (be warned), keep scrolling to seem the best new beauty products launching in October!
Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Push Up Drama Angel Mascara ($7)
Maybelline’s new mascara in the Falses family promises to help you re-create the fanned-out look of individual false lashes. How? The curved brush has tiny bristles on one side to grab every lash and lift it up and out. If length and lift are what your heart desires, you’ll love this purple tube.
Clive Christian Noble VII Cosmos Flower Fragrance ($550)
It should come as no surprise that the creator of the world’s most expensive perfume should create a scent worthy of royalty. Cosmos Flower, Clive Christian’s latest fragrance launch, is classified as a gourmand, but right off the bat, let’s just dispel any preconceived notions you may have of that fragrance family. The opposite of saccharine sweet, the fragrance blends sweet benzoin and caramel at the base with a bitter cocoa and leather twist, adding hearty notes of fruity plum accord, ylang-ylang, jasmine, and cosmos flower. It’s addicting, alluring, and complicated—and we can’t stop spritzing.
Maison Margiela Across Sands ($180)
The four distinctive scents in Maison Margiela’s stunning new eau de parfum collection each embody different universes: an oriental leather (Across Sands), white floral aldehydic (Dancing on the Moon), a green botanical (Soul of the Forest), and a fresh “cologne-style” perfume (Flying). Frankly, we’re obsessed with all of them.
Nars x Sarah Moon True Story Cheek and Lip Palette ($59)
To say the new Sarah Moon for Nars collection is gorgeous would be an understatement. From dreamy eye quads to new Moon Matte lipsticks to a giftable mini Audacious lipstick set you’ll definitely want to keep for yourself, each product and set is the true definition of “lust-worthy.” They will all be available on NarsCosmetics.com and in Nars boutiques on October 5; they’ll be available at Sephora and Nordstrom on November 1.
Alima Pure Liquid Silk Foundation ($42)
Alima Pure may be known for its silky mineral products, but its new liquid silk foundation proves the brand’s full of surprises. Made with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, coconut oil, and argan oil, the 10 shades provide smooth, even coverage for a wide range of skin tones.
Victoria's Secret Velvet Matte Cream Lip Stain ($14)
We know what you’re thinking: not another matte liquid lipstick. Oh, but Victoria’s Secret has blown us away, truly, with this formulation. Each smells like candy, but it’s the formula that sets them all apart. Creamy and highly pigmented, they glide on like silk and magically don’t dry out. They may not be the longest-lasting, but we’ll take non-drying any day.
Tata Harper The Multi-Masking Collection ($178)
Models and celebrities know that multi-masking is the key to cherub skin, and Tata Harper makes the whole thing easy for you by housing three of masks in one kit for that very purpose. Her best-selling Resurfacing Mask brightens and tones while the Purifying Mask cleans out your pores without drying you out. Plus, there’s the Honey Blossom Resurfacing Mask, which was originally intended to be limited edition but became so popular that she brought it back as a staple. Tata Harper—giving the people what they want, one product at a time.
Glamglow Dreamduo Overnight Transforming Treatment ($59)
Want plump, dewy skin? This two-step formula from Glamglow promises to get you there. Step one is a serum made with green coffee, green tea leaf, and other antioxidants and vitamins that melt into your skin. Step two is a gray-tinged, nourishing moisture boost with hyaluronic acid and green algae to seal everything in and boost your glow.
Origins RitualiTea Oolong-la Purifying Powder Face Mask ($36)
Origins’ new line RitualiTea is all about encouraging people to take more “me” time. Inspired by tea rituals around the world, each signature blend is targeted to a different skin concern. We predict the powder masks will soon be a new favorite—just pour the powder out, mix with warm water, and apply it to clean, dry skin. Rinse it off, and revel in your bright new complexion.
If we had to choose which shade to keep from Ilia’s three new fall lipsticks, we’d choose… all of them, because have you seen them?! Creamy, buildable, and hydrating, all of Ilia’s lipsticks are natural and free of harmful ingredients, and all three of these new shades have earned a permanent place in our fall makeup bag.
