How To Get Nina Dobrev’s Back-From-Vacation Glow

We think that Nina Dobrev took to the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Let’s Be Cops with the aim of proving summer is not over until it’s over. And we definitely think she succeeded. We caught up with celebrity makeup artist, Beau Nelson, who created the look for Dobrev, and asked him to tell us exactly how he made this bronzed, beach goddess look look so natural.

First, Nelson used MAC’s Face And Body Foundation ($27) to even out the actresses skin tone. Since the focus of the look is that perfect skin, Nelson used cream concealer where needed for extra coverage, and By Terry’s Touche Veloutee Pen ($58) under her eyes to cancel out any darkness. Laura Mercier’s Secret Brightening Powder ($24) set the under-eye area and La Mer’s The Powder ($65) finished the rest of the face. But to avoid an overly matte look, Nelson sprayed MAC’s Fix+ ($22) on the sides of the face (avoiding the center completely) for a little dew.

For the real sun-kissed glow magic, Nelson used Hourglass Cosmetics’ Illume Crème-To-Powder Bronzer ($40) and Tom Ford’s Shade & Illuminate Highlighter & Shader Duet ($77) to contour her cheekbones and jawline, enhancing Dobrev’s natural bone structure.

A few generous coats of voluminizing mascara and some sheer pink lip gloss finished the look. "Nina and I wanted to do something simple and fresh to compliment her Zuhair Murad beaded dress," Nelson says. Simply gorgeous.
