Spotted: White Graphic Liner and Peachy Lips at Nanette Lepore
“What’s more refreshing than white?” Maybelline lead makeup artist Grace Lee asks backstage at Nanette Lepore’s S/S 15 show. We have to agree with her—the pop of graphic white eyeliner on models’ lids has us dreaming of balmy summer days in the Riviera, which is exactly the vibe she’s going for. “Nanette’s collection was inspired by the French Riviera in the ‘60s, with lots of corals and blues,” Lee explains. “When you think ‘60s, you think graphic lines and lots of black, but since it’s for spring, we’re changing it to white.” She used Maybelline’s Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow ($7) in Too Cool—a frosty, silvery white—to trace a thick, winged line that comes to a point at the inner corner of each eye. Then she layered two mascaras –Maybelline’s Volum'Express The Rocket ($8) and Pumped Up! Colossal ($6)—and applied a thin strip of false lashes on the top and bottom lash line to add more drama to the look. On the models’ lips, she used Color Sensational Lipcolor ($8) in Peach Poppy, a soon-to-be-released soft coral color. Is it too early to start dreaming of next summer?
