Brow Guru Kristie Streicher Shares Her Defined Brow Technique
There is no denying that brows have been having a moment—and that moment doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. In case you're late to the party, Smashbox's recent video will interest you. The brand's Global Pro Artist Lori Taylor Davis met up with brow guru Kristie Streicher to discuss all things brow, and she passed along some pretty expert knowledge. Among our favorite findings? Streicher is a big fan of a full, naturally-shaped eyebrow. With clients like Emily Blunt, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Rachel Weisz, we're taking her word as gospel. Kristie explains that having a full, natural brow can define not only the eye, but also the bone structure of the face, while pooly-shaped brows that are often too round can really accentuate dark circles. No, thank you! Additional pro tips include holding your skin tight and lifting it in the direction that you want your arch to go when applying product, using small feathery strokes when filling in your brows, making sure to brush both the skin and the hair with the color when using product, balancing your brows by filling in the outer portion, and starting where you hair is most sparse.
As for product, Streicher loves a matte pencil, explaining that it's the most natural way to fill in your brows. To get the signature Streicher feathered brow, she uses the new Smashbox Brow Tech Matte Pencil ($21); Nars Brow Perfector ($23) is another good option. Both help to create that full brow with a flawless, natural matte finish.
