When it comes to bold beauty looks, Kristen Stewart isn’t one to shy away. Case in point: the pop of electric blue shadow in the inner corners of her eyes at the New York premiere of her new film, Still Alice. Paired with sleek, blown-out strands that curled softly under at the ends, her look was half rock ‘n’ roll rebel and half chic retro girl band—which is exactly the vibe makeup artist Beau Nelson was going for. “My inspiration was sort of 1960s in a way, but I wanted to make it modern,” he says. “With Kristen’s hair the way it was, it was easy for me to imagine her in a ‘60s girl group, with a strong black eye, which we reimagined by adding a metallic, sapphire iridescent twist.”
To create the sultry, intense eye-makeup look, he used Chanel’s Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner ($32) in Noir and Marine on her lid. Then, he applied the brand’s Soft Touch Eye Shadow ($30) in Ebony over the two liners, blending it all out. And the final touch? Tracing another Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner ($32)—this time in Bleu Métallique, a deep, shimmery, electric blue—over the black liner and intensifying it on the inner corners of her eyes. Bold, bright, and balls-y—just like KStew herself.
