Cult Classic: Kiehl’s Body Butter Is the Best
There are lots of drugstore lotions that do their job really well. Lubriderm, Dove, Nivea—all lock in moisture and have an easy, fresh scent. But no matter what’s on my bathroom shelves (and trust me, from the above to Frederic Malle and Restorsea, there are dozens of formulas), I always go back to Kiehl’s Crème de Corps Soy & Honey Whipped Body Butter ($38). Yes, it’s expensive, but the tub of super rich cream lasts for six to eight months, depending on how generously you apply it, and given how thick and moisturizing it is, you can afford to be stingy.
Why is it so moisturizing? Because shea butter’s the base, but it’s also packed with squalane, jojoba oil, and beta-carotene to tackle dryness from all angles. Its inimitable texture comes from being air whipped, which makes it feel lighter than it actually is, and its semi-sweet scent quickly dissipates upon application. And those are just a few of the reasons it’s earned its place on so many “Best of Beauty” lists year after year. You’ll have to use it to discover the rest.
