Bohemian braids are always a huge trend at Coachella, with everyone and their best friends rocking the effortlessly undone ‘do in the desert. This year, festival goddess Kate Bosworth took things to the next level with a sleek yet sightly punk center-part braid that can only be described as amazing. Celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager, who created the super-cool look specifically for the actress, was inspired by the slept-in, grunge-chic feel of the '90s.
To copy Bosworth’s laid-back style, Brager recommends starting with second-day dry hair. Take a section of hair where you would normally have a center part. (Note: This section should start at the crown.) Begin making a cornrow braid, starting at the crown and working toward your forehead, finishing at your hairline. Make two equal sections with the remaining hair and secure by pushing a bobby pin up the middle of the braid as close to the scalp as possible. Take the remaining sections and smooth them down to frame the face. Sprinkle a volumizing powder to the lengths of the hair to add desired texture. Gather hair above the ears into a topknot and secure with an elastic band. Let any loose pieces fall effortless around the face and finish with Bumble and Bumble's Does It All Hairspray ($15) for light hold.
