Get The Look: Jessica Alba's Perfectly Undone Waves

Deven Hopp

Jessica Alba has mastered the tousled texture look—those beachy waves that look like only the ocean could have created them. Luckily, the ocean isn’t the only option. At a recent event celebrating the launch of The Honest Company at Target, Alba showed up with those enviable, perfectly undone locks. And we caught up with celebrity hairstylist Davy Newkirk to find out how he made it happen.

Newkirk started by applying Alterna’s Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil ($25) to Alba’s wet hair. Then he sprayed the roots with Alterna’s Bamboo Volume 48-Hour Sustainable Volume Spray ($25) and used a diffuser to dry the hair. Once dry, Newkirk curled random sections with a half-inch curling iron, and roughed up the texture with his hands and a hair dryer for a more natural feel. To finish off, he used a bit of John Masters Organics’ Bourbon Vanilla & Tangerine Hair Texturizer ($21) on the ends and random pieces.
