23 Understated Ways to Wear Neon Makeup
Of all the trends to incorporate into your spring makeup bag, neon hues may be the most intimidating. But when done right—a simple bright lip or swipe of liner—it’s not scary at all, we promise! Need proof? Spring’s runway was jam packed with bright hues: Gucci Westman painted the models’ pouts a vibrant orange at Rag & Bone with a mix of Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick ($4) in Carnival and ColorBurst Matte Balm ($7) in Mischievous; models at Costello Tagliapietra wore vibrant lime and purple eye shadow (see slide 14); while the girls at Marc by Marc Jacobs sported electric-blue lids. Hollywood’s jumped on board, too. It seems like every tastemaker has either dabbled in an electric pout or bright eye lately. And, like the runway, it’s always paired with a neutral face.
