Why We're Digging the Return of Frosty Makeup
When Vogue Spain released their July issue, starring a frosted Daria Werbowy, we were surprised to think, “Wait, we want that.” If there was any trend we were sure would not be revived, it was frost. But since then we’ve seen Cat Deeley sport a frosty nude lip, Blake Lively show off icy eyeshadow, and Rihanna’s released a frosted holiday collection for M.A.C. The trick to making this finish look current? Complementary colors and a balance of textures. Our suggestions, above.
Makeup artist Fulvia Farolfi told Into The Gloss that she mixed lavender and pink pigments before adding gloss. “I would recommend trying Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Color ($34) in Gracile, for a satin finish, or Rouge Coco Lip Shine ($34) in Magnolia, with Glossimer ($29) in Plaisir all by Chanel,” she says.
Blake Lively rimmed her eyes with icy white and pink for a Van Cleef & Arpels party in New York.
Olivia Wilde went into neutral at the premiere of Her, pairing a smokey plum eye with her shimmering nude lip.
