The Secret to Becoming a Morning Workout Person

Caitie Schlisserman

As you sip your coffee in the morning, do you ever ponder how to start your day off more productively? Well, wonder no more, because this summer we’re running a three-part video series with Origins featuring the morning routines of women who are making it work. Make sure to watch each video and shop their must-have products for getting themselves—and you!—through the day.

We’ll be the first to admit that it’s not exactly fun to forego the snooze button, but there’s good news. It is possible to become a morning person—not just that, but a morning workout person. Hear us out: Early mornings are the rare period of time where you have no commitments or interruptions, so why not use it to focus on doing something for yourself?

“Getting outside for a morning run is the best way to kick-start my day,” says Taye Hansberry, the blogger behind Stuff She Likes. “It gets me out in the sun and ready to take on the day.” But some days are easier than others, she concedes. Her secret to getting herself going? “Adding a dab of grapefruit oil to my wrists and temples for an instant boost of energy and that extra zing,” she shares.

What else can’t she live without when it comes to her morning runs? Watch the video below to find out.

Has Hansberry inspired you to become a morning workout person? If not, there are still ways to improve your routine. Start by checking out the morning rituals of other successful women. Whether sleeping in is your priority or you prefer to indulge in a perfect cup of coffee, there’s something for every lifestyle.
