Primer, as the name suggests, is the base of your canvas. It will help smooth things out visually before you get started with everything else.
First things first: Exfoliate your lips. You'll slough off chapped skin and plump lips up, reaching your personal potential without drastic or invasive measures. Immediately afterward, moisturize and let it absorb. Kylie Jenner, possibly the most influential lip expert of our generation, swears by Charlotte Tilbury’s Charlotte’s Magic Cream ($100). Finally, opt for a lip stain rather than a gloss. Follow up with another dose of moisturizer.
Fabric mascara stays on until you rub it off with warm water—no flaking, no joke. But for the greatest effect, curl and condition those lashes first with Blinc Lash Primer ($20).
You’ll need two things to set your makeup in place: finishing spray and loose powder. Trust us, these extend the life of your look a lot. Start by sweeping on loose powder, and complete the hold with a few spritz of L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray ($14).
This is the best way to control any oil that may creep up along the way. We also recommend packing a lip moisturizer to reapply through the night as needed. We love Rosebud Perfume Co. Salve in a Tube ($6).
