The Industry Trick to Lasting Lipstick
If there’s one beauty product essential in holiday party prep, it’s most certainly lipstick. But the thought of continuous application throughout the night can tempt some of us to play it safe (err, boring) with a gloss. As with most makeup application, there happens to be a beauty industry trick to get lipstick, regardless of how bold, to last throughout the night without bleeding. And Vogue got celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff to spill on how to do just that.
Dubroff, who works with A-clients like Dakota Johnson, believes it really comes down to two things: a moisturized base and proper setting. Once lips are properly exfoliated and hydrated, Dubroff says, “apply a base coat of color straight from the tube,” then fill in color with a matching pencil and apply a final coat of your lipstick.
