Expert How To: Score Elizabeth Olsen's Daytime Smoky Eye
Lee gave Olsen an even complexion by sparingly applying Chanel’s Perfection Lumiere Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup ($45) only where the actress needed light coverage. Buff with a damp sponge for a light finish.
Lee then added highlighter to Olsen’s cheekbones to complete the Bianca Jagger-inspired, contoured look. Lee dabbed Make Up For Ever’s Uplight Face Luminizer Gel ($29) onto the top of the actress’ cheeks, and blended any harsh lines for a subtle radiance.
Lee started Olsen’s smoky eye by building depth with the burgundy hue from Chanel’s Quadra Eyeshadow ($59) in Eclosion. “Feather it out along the socket line and through the bottom lashline,” Lee says. Next, she layered the brand’s Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow ($36) in New Moon over Olsen’s lid for a shimmery finish.
Lee added a few coats of Chanel’s Inimitable Waterproof Mascara ($30) in Noir to Olsen’s top and bottom lashes.
To balance Olsen’s shimmery shadow, Lee defined the actress’ brows with Anastasia’s Tinted Brow Gel ($22) in Caramel.
