Reviewed: Han Skin Care Cosmetics Natural Cheek & Lip Tint
As beauty editors, we get bombarded with a ton of new products every day (we know—tough life). Reviewed is a series where we report on some of the best products we’ve tried. Whether it’s a drugstore lipstick that lasted all day or a hand cream that saved us this winter, you’ll find all of our favorites in this column. Enjoy!
My love for natural beauty products is strong but has its limits—usually ending after skincare and hair but right before makeup. Though there are definitely exceptions (W3ll People is one), I rarely encounter natural makeup lines that deliver the pigment payoff and creamy consistency that my discerning self desires. It’s an ongoing struggle: Either use products that deliver the most beautiful finish with 50+ ingredients I can’t pronounce, or choose the better-for-me option with less-than-ideal color and coverage. Thus, I was completely blown away after trying Han Skin Care Cosmetics’ Cheek & Lip Tints ($12), all-natural tints that come in plastic brown tubes small enough to fit in your pocket. I tried the Coral Hibiscus shade, which is a warm, gold-tinged coral akin to Nars’s cult-favorite Orgasm, and Pink Peony, a vibrant, creamy fuschia pink. Both shades gave the most beautiful, hyper-pigmented color payoff—one swipe was all it took to add a natural flush to my cheeks and give my lips a wash of hydrating color. Made with 100% natural ingredients, like shea butter, argan and acai oil, and tea extracts, the formulas felt silky smooth when applied and, better yet, smelled just like cotton candy (that would be the natural vanilla extract). While browsing the site, I discovered that the brand uses only natural ingredients, like acai extract and beetroot, to add pigment to its makeup products—no carmine here (a red dye found in most lipsticks that’s made from beetles… yes, beetles).
Don’t be fooled by their humble exterior—these tints pack a powerful, pigmented punch that rivals some of their more luxe counterparts. My only qualm is that there aren't more shades; I'll take a dark berry, peachy nude, and pale pink, please!
