Go Buy Now: HIPP x RGB Liquid Buff

We don’t want to go so far as to say that there’s been a backlash against nail art, but we have noticed an increasing number of women—from beauty editors to Hollywood actresses—choosing to go bare. Last month, Alexa Chung told us that she prefers to have her nails buffed instead of painted and Sarah Gibson Tuttle, the owner of LA’s favorite new salon, Olive & June, says that in the four months since she’s opened, more and more women are leaving the salon polish-less. The only problem? Buffing your nails actually causes damage.

“When we opened I refused to buff anyone’s nails because I’d read so many articles about how degenerative it is to the nail bed,” says Tuttle. But customers insisted, so Tuttle teamed up with celebrity manicurist Jenna Hipp and RGB founder Gina Carney to create a product that would make your nails look shiny and buffed—without the damage. Thus Liquid Buff ($20) was born.

“Liquid Buff is designed to hydrate, nourish, and enhance the condition of the natural nail,” says Hipp. “With added vitamin E and Biotin to strengthen, Liquid Buff mimics exactly the subtle look of a just buffed nail.” Bonus? Just one coat lasts over a week.

Liquid Buff’s exclusive to Olive & June through the end of this year, but give them a call and they’ll send a bottle your way!
