Rag & Bone

That '90s renaissance happening for fall? Good news, it's not going anywhere. Yesterday's primary-colored rag & bone collection, for spring 2013, was topped off with the bold brow and slicked back hair so typical of that decade.Revlon's Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman (who just happens to be married to the David Neville half of rag & bone) was feeling supermodels for spring. "Those old pictures of Linda and Christy," she said, "really feminine, but tough and punky." The foundation of the look is clean skin, which Westman bestowed upon each model with Dr. Hauschka's Moisturizing Mask ($52). "The strength is in the brow," she said, filling in Karlie Kloss's arches with Revlon's Brow Fantasy Pencil ($8). Westman used the same pencil to draw a few freckles on each of the girls, for an extra fresh look. And on the lips? "I'm using nipple balm!" (She favors Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm ($14.50).

Guido, too, was feeling nostalgic, though he was less effusive. "I'm doing a kind of sporty look," he said before adding, "Well, I suppose it's little bit '90s feeling, that idea of ease and sophistication in a minimal way." Redken's Creative Consultant is big on dueling textures this season, which at rag & bone meant wet and slick in front against wavy and loose in back. "After prepping the hair with Redken Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam ($18), he rough dried the models' manes without a brush-just fingers-before coating his hands in Redken ($13) and slicking down the front, again only with his fingers. "I'm using my fingers, because if I used a comb it'd be too close to the head and I want a bit of lift, Hardware Gel" he explained. "It's a nice way of wearing something very dramatic, but soft at the same time."

So if you didn't take our word for it, take rag & bone's-and start growing out those brows!
