Makeup artist Spencer Barnes prepped Hough’s skin with Merle Norman’s Anti-Redness Cream ($40) followed by the brand’s Aqua Balance Makeup ($21), picking up excess product with a damp Beauty Blender Sponge ($20). For extra coverage with a slight glow he reached for Nars’ Radiant Creamy Concealer ($28).

Barnes set Hough’s skin with T. LeClerc’s yellow-toned Loose Powder ($50) in Banane, then dusted on Nars’ Bronzing Powder ($36) in Casino. “Lightly apply bronzer on the temples, forehead, and under the cheek bones with a big fluffy brush, then switch to a smaller brush and dust on the side of the nose and top of the chin,” he says.

To get a natural-looking application of Lorac’s Pro Powder Cheek Stain ($20) Barnes dipped a fluffy brush into the Coral Crush shade, dusted the excess on the back of his hand, then brushed onto Hough’s cheeks.

For a day-appropriate smoky eye Barnes applied Piret and Tamara’s Eye Silk ($35) in Seashell from Hough’s lashline to brow bone, then reached for Lorac’s Pro Palette ($42). He dusted taupe in the actress’ crease, espresso on the outer corner, champagne on her brow bone and inner corner, and slate on the lid and under the actress’ bottom lashline.

For a full lash like Hough’s, Barnes recommends curling your lashes, using Lancome’s Definicils Mascara ($27), then adding a quick swipe of Merle Norman’s Soft Touch Eye Pencil ($14) in Blackout.

Barnes used one of Hough’s favorite products for her brows: Votre Vu’s Arch De Triumphe ($24) in Fair. “This makes brows look very natural,” says Barnes.

“This satiny-matte lip color is a makeup artist secret!” says Barnes, referring to Ben Nye’s Crème Blush Compact ($14) in Blushing Bride. “It’s the perfect peachy shade for lips.”

We’ve mentioned we’re digging the textured bob this summer. Hairstylist Tauni Dawson sprayed Oribe’s Dry Texture Spray ($39) all over the actress’ air-dried locks. Using a one-inch curling iron, she made loose curls in alternating directions. “Don’t overwork the hair with the iron--less is more with this look,” Dawson says.

Once cool, Dawson gave Hough’s hair a shake with her hands to make the actress’ locks look lived-in. “A deep side part feels sexy,” Dawson says. A mist of Oribe’s Superfine Strong Hair Spray ($36) secured everything in place.
