19 February Beauty Launches You're Going to Fall in Love With
No matter how dire the snow/sleet situation is outside, we always view February through rose-colored glasses—it’s the month of love, after all. And in the spirit of great loves, we’re professing our devotion to—no, not our boyfriends, girlfriends, or life partners—but a couple of very intriguing beauty launches. From Milk Makeup’s game-changing new primer that keeps oily skin in check to Tom Ford’s new Shade and Illuminate Lip Kits (you apply them with a spongey eye shadow brush for a velvet finish), there’s plenty to swoon (and obsess) over. Significant other, who? Keep scrolling to see all the best beauty products to snatch up in the weeks ahead!
Kate Somerville Eradikate Acne Foaming Wash ($38)
The new cleanser counterpart to Kate Somerville’s best-selling EradiKate line has a frothy texture that turns into a luxurious lather. It’s made with 3% sulfur to clear and prevent blemishes as well as unclog pores, while honey, rice bran, and natural oat extract soothe the skin.
Deborah Lippmann Bed of Roses Set ($36)
This chic collection of six neutral polishes in every shade of rose is the perfect V-Day gift—for your girlfriend or yourself.
Penhaligon’s Clandestine Clara ($240)
Who is Clara? She’s spicy but sweet, well-traveled and independent. In a word: unconventional. This new scent from British fragrance line Penhaligon’s is utterly intoxicating, mixing heady notes of rum vanilla with cinnamon musk and rich patchouli. Spritz it, and expect double-takes.
Burt’s Bees Eye Makeup Remover Pads ($6)
These gentle makeup-removing pads from Burt’s Bees are sure to be a new cult favorite. Perfect for all skin types, the pads gently remove makeup while refreshing the skin around your eyes. Plus, they’re clinically shown to remove waterproof eye makeup with no rinsing needed and are fragrance-free, so perfect for sensitive skin.
Essie Spring 2017 Gel Couture Ballet Nudes ($12)
Fashion and ballet have always gone hand in hand, and Essie’s newest Gel Couture collection is inspired by both worlds. With shades ranging from powder periwinkle (Perfect Posture) to ballet slipper pink (Lace Me Up), the entire range is just begging to be worn for spring. Plus, the gel formula ensures you’ll be chip-free for up to a week.
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer ($9)
Getting a sun-kissed glow has never been easier. The newest iteration of Jergens’ cult Natural Glow moisturizer is an in-shower moisturizer. Just slather it on right after showering on damp skin, and then carry on with your normal routine. The color sinks in and promises to gradually deepen your glow over time. Lotion haters, rejoice!
Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick ($18)
We’re honestly shocked it’s taken Urban Decay this long to come out with liquid lipsticks—but these are well worth the wait. The creamy formula applies easily with the doe-foot applicator, and unlike other matte liquid lipsticks, it doesn’t make your mouth feel like it’s been coated in cement. The color selection is our favorite part, ranging from pastel lilac to metallic blue and vampy aubergine.
Chloé Love Story Eau Sensuelle ($105)
The newest edition of Chloé’s Love Story fragrance makes orange blossom the start attraction, with fizzy lemon and yuzu, and a musk-tinged base. Prediction: You’ll wear this light, playful scent through spring and beyond.
Julep No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen Gel ($28)
Is it an essence or a sunscreen? Who says you have to choose? This lightweight, liquid formula absorbs instantly into the skin just like an essence while protecting your skin from UVA/UVB rays. If you hate traditional sunscreen, you’re going to want to try this revolutionary formula. (There’s a reason our senior editor dubbed this “the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried.")
Ex Nihilo Devil Tender ($225)
Sweet, with a hint of scandal, this new fragrance from indie Parisian fragrance house Ex Nihilo blends spicy pink grapefruit with juicy peach, rose water, and a white cedar for an utterly bewitching scent. If you gravitate toward the fresh and spicy, you’ll need to smell this, stat.
Milk Makeup Blur Stick ($36)
Most primers that promise to keep your oil situation under control are made with heavy silicones that clog your pores and cause more oil. Not so the case with this new blur stick. The silicone-free formula magically minimizes the appearance of pores up to 68% and provides a smooth, matte finish. Wear it alone for an airbrushed complexion, or layer foundation on top to look like your skin has an Insta filter over it IRL.
Dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Multi-Performance Stick ($35)
Created with the girl on the go in mind, this five-in-one waterproof stick visibly blurs your pores, protects your skin (it’s SPF 45), hydrates, smooths, and makes your skin look all-around amazing after a sweat SoulCycle sesh. The universal shade promises to make all skin tones look dewy, smooth, and even.
Wander Beauty Rise and Prime ($39)
This dual-ended product might just be your new desert island must-have. On one end is an ultra-hydrating balm to swipe on your lips and cheekbones (it doubles as a dewy highlighter) while the other end features a universally flattering oil-free primer. Keep this staple in your gym bag at all times.
True Botanicals SPF 20 ($40)
In a new extra-light tint, these serum-light sunscreens are made with natural ingredients like silk powder, pearl powder, and green tea extract to moisturize while protecting.
Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Lips ($60)
Makeup lovers, rejoice: Tom Ford is launching lip and cheek versions of its cult-favorite Shade and Illuminate. We’re especially besotted with the lip kits, which look like eye shadows but are actually creamy. We applied the shade with the spongey tip of the lip brush and marveled at the matte, velvet finish and intense color payoff.
Alima Pure Smooth + Prime ($46)
Free of harmful chemicals and skin irritants, this silky smooth skin primer from Alima Pure instantly mattifies your complexion once you apply while ingredients like squalane and avocado oil give your skin a big dose of moisture for a double whammy. Layer your foundation—liquid, cream, or powder—on top and expect crease-free wear all day.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Mascara ($28)
Made with panthenol to promote thicker, healthier lashes, this all-in-one mascara volumizes, curls, and thickens in one go. Use it horizontally to add volume, and then turn it vertically and use the ball tip to separate and lengthen.
Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation ($64)
Luminous Silk devotees, listen up—there’s a new foundation from Giorgio Armani to obsess over. Power Fabric is a new liquid formula that gives a matte, full-coverage finish that doesn’t look cakey. Apply it with your fingers and watch it melt into the skin and give a velvety blurring effect. We couldn’t stop staring at our reflections after trying it.
Yes to Carrots Cotton Micellar Water ($9)
We’re obsessed with the gentle cleansing effects of micellar water (and French women are too), so we were especially excited to learn that Yes to Carrots was launching a micellar line of its own. The Cotton formula is made with 99% natural ingredients, vegan, and free of parabens, sulfates, and silicones. Instead, cotton seed extract nourishes the skin while gently wiping away impurities.
If you missed our favorite January beauty launches, head on over to see the new beauty products we've been obsessing over all month.
