Here Are All the Drugstore Products We've Spotted at NYFW
Arguably the best week in New York City is Fashion Week, which technically lasts an entire month, but always kicks off in the Big Apple. Backstage, where models like Bella and Kendall prep for the runway, is a plethora of beauty products ranging from the highly anticipated MAC Cosmetics launch coming later this year to the drugstore staples available right now.
When it comes to the latter, we're all about taking a look at the hair, makeup, and nail stations that models are ushered in an out of as camera bulbs flash away—because amid the glam squads are some welcomed drugstore beauty products. Designers from Joseph Altuzarra to Prabal Gurung enlist brands like Tresemmé, Essie, and Maybelline to create their runway beauty looks. Even Who What Wear had Maybelline on glam squad duty for its stellar fashion week debut. We may not be able to afford the designer clothes on the runway, but we can scrounge up our dollars and try the backstage beauty looks for ourselves.

Maybelline Color Sensational Loaded Bold Lipstick in Midnight Merlot ($6)
Inspired by a young and fresh look, makeup artist Grace Lee opted for a berry-stained lip as the focus of the beauty look at Public School. Using the shade Midnight Merlot, Lee created what looks lived in and like "a girl had a deep red but has been out all day and hasn't touched it up."
Kiss Salon Secrets Nail Art Starter Kit ($10)
The manicures spotted at Naeem Khan proved that nail art is anything but over. In fact, the fun approach is getting a serious dose of sparkle courtesy of glitter. Manicurist Gina Edwards created a mosaic-inspired glitter effect on nails using the starter kit from Kiss. The mix of silver, gold, and bronze confetti and glitter made for one of the best manis we saw all week.
Hot Tools Soft Grip Paddle Cushion Brush ($16)
Models at Prabal Gurung sported a modern take on the classic ponytail and hairstylist Anthony Turner achieved the sleek feminine look by using a Hot Tools paddle brush and hairdryer. Proving the look is easy to DIY, Turner created the soft curls at the ends using the brand's 1" Curlbar, too.
Maybelline The 24K Nudes Eye Shadow Palette ($10)
A radiant complexion, statement brows, and glossy lids were the makeup look of choice at Who What Wear. Carolina Dali used Maybelline makeup to get the look, including the brand's latest nude palette's brown shades to create a base for the berry eye shadow and to line the eyes before finishing things off with The Colossal Big Shot Mascara ($7).
Essie Nail Color in Carry On ($9)
Designs formed by wind and nature were the inspiration behind the Christian Siriano show and manicurist Rita Remark created wavy sand-like patterns using glam shades. The base of the manicure was a moody fall-worthy plum shade from Essie, and she used a mix of Leggy Legend and Splash of Grenadine to create the wave shapes. Of course, she finished off the glitzy nail art with a swipe of a pink glittery shade called A Cut Above.
Q-tips Cotton Swabs ($3)
Every makeup artist agrees that no kit is complete kit without an arsenal of Q-tips. The beauty staple is a no-brainer and can be used for pretty much anything from blending out a color to precise cleanup. It's no wonder this essential continues to make an appearance backstage season after season.
