The Internet's Favorite Makeup Primer Is Now Available at Sephora
Farsali is the skincare brand you watched slowly take over the Instagram beauty scene last year… and well beyond. First, it released the decadent Rose Gold Elixir ($54)—read our full review—before surprising us with a glow-inducing new primer that the brand literally named Unicorn Tears. All of Farsali's formulas have since been made available at Sephora, and they're not-so-shockingly selling like crazy.
But back to the Unicorn Tears primer, which has earned a slightly new moniker—Unicorn Essence—since its birth late last year. Why the magical name? Well, multiple reasons: First off, the product itself looks like the pink sparkly serum you'd expect to see in the happy tears of an actual unicorn. But the formula is also otherworldly enough to have earned the name.
"Unicorn Essence is an oil-free solution that acts as a dual-purpose serum," the brand wrote in an Instagram post. In practice, the multitasking product is a primer for people who hate primer. It's free of sulfates, parabens, and oil and absorbs instantly into the skin. According to a review from Allure, "Unicorn Tears aren't greasy or chalky—and they don't pill, either." When the reporter massaged a few drops onto a freshly cleaned face, including her eyelids, she said her foundation and eye makeup applied more smoothly and stayed in place "far longer." But that's not all it did.

Farsáli Unicorn Essence Skin-Enhancing Antioxidant Serum ($54)
According to Farsali, Unicorn Essence's special formula not only preps skin for makeup application but it also "helps protect the skin from free radical damage." The product packs antioxidants like açai and goji berry as well as vitamin C, which encourages a brighter, more even skin tone.
If that weren't enough, the product also has a subtle iridescent shimmer to it, which, when applied under makeup, offers what Allure calls "a radiant glow that doesn't read as Twilight vampire in the sun."
So how do you use the product? Those with oily skin can apply it as a two-in-one moisturizer and primer after cleansing. You can also mix it with your moisturizer, either in the morning or at night, for more hydration.
And in the end, they're unicorn tears. Run, don't walk to your local Sephora.
