3 DIY Face Masks to Whip Up in Your Kitchen

We all know sugar makes a great body scrub and coconut oil is a nourishing deep conditioner, but whipping up a DIY face mask is another story. So we asked Alexis Wolfer, founder of The Beauty Bean and author of the forthcoming DIY beauty book The Recipe for Radiance ($20), for help. She created three natural, easy-to-make concoctions just for us, each of which targets a different concern: dull skin, acne, and redness. The best part? You probably already have the ingredients in your kitchen!

    1 tablespoon fresh pineapple juice
1 tablespoon raw honey (try the Honey ($11) from Really Raw)

    Anti-Aging Resurfacing Mask

Directions: Whip up ingredients in a small bowl with a fork or small wisk and apply a thin layer to your face, avoiding your eye area. Let sit for 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Tip: This will stay good in your fridge for a week, so make enough for two facials!

What it Does: Get ready for brighter skin! “The enzymes in the pineapple and vitamin A in the pumpkin gently exfoliate dry, dull, and discolored skin,” Wolfer says. “Combined with antibacterial and hydrating honey, you’ll notice smoother, more supple skin in just one application.”
