The 3-in-1 Miracle Balm I Want to Bathe My Skin In

Faith Xue

Removing my makeup is arguably the least exciting part of my makeup routine—but now I look forward to it with the excitement of a thousand eager puppies. Why? Because a large jar of Charlotte Tilbury’s Multi-Miracle Glow ($60) now sits on my bathroom counter, and quite frankly, I want to take a bath in it.

First, the scent is luxurious, smelling like roses, cherub’s bathwater, and, well, you get the idea. It smells so good that I guarantee your immediate reaction will be to slather it on your face, which is great, because that’s exactly what you’re supposed to do. I rub this indulgent, cushiony balm all over my face to remove my makeup at the end of the day, then rinse it off for clean, clear, pillow-soft skin. Made with skin-loving oils like sea buckthorn, rose hip, and camellia, as well as plumping vitamins A, C, and E, it’ll gently remove your makeup in one luxurious go. (It’s also the perfect first step in any double-cleansing routine.)

“But why waste such amazing ingredients only to wash them off?” you ask. Oh naïve ones, that’s where the miracle comes in—this cream-to-oil balm is so good for your skin, you can actually leave it on as an overnight mask. That's what I have been doing any time I feel like pampering my skin without any effort (which is always the best kind of pampering). Every morning, without fail, I rinse it off and am left with a glowy, bright, and—dare I say it?—pleasantly dewy complexion. (As someone with naturally oily skin, you can imagine how difficult it is for me to use the word ‘dewy’ in an affectionate manner.) As for the third use, Tilbury says you can use this balm to soften and soothe dry elbows, or anywhere else you need a moisture boost (I use it on my perpetually dry legs, where it leaves a silky sheen). She calls it her S.O.S. balm—I call it a tub of magical goodness that I want to rub on every inch of my body.

I recognize the fact that it’s a tad ridiculous to be excited about a product that takes off my makeup, but I just can’t deny my emotions—when you feel that instant connection, you just know. Suffice to say, this miracle balm is a keeper, and now that Tilbury’s eponymous line is (finally!) available in the U.S., I can sleep easy knowing I won’t ever be without it. Now—who wants to take off their makeup?
