First Look: Chanel’s Jaw-Dropping New Beauty Boutique

Hear the word Vegas, and the next word that comes to mind probably isn’t Chanel. Which is why when we heard that the iconic Parisian luxury brand was opening its first ever fragrance, beauty, and sunglasses boutique in the heart of Sin City, we were more than excited to see what the space would look like. Kids on Christmas morning would be an accurate description of our anticipation level.

We got the chance to do just that over Valentine’s Day weekend, and were blown away by the unique concept and stunning design of the 800-square-foot space, tucked away in the Forum Shops at Caesar’s in Las Vegas. Far from being your average stand-alone outpost, the boutique is more like an interactive art museum—at every turn there’s a secret alcove waiting to be discovered. The sunglass salon has a faceted floor-to-ceiling mirrored wall that lets you see yourself at every angle. The perfume section is in fact a fragrance library, with house scents only sold in Paris and online. And then there’s the cut-out “Double C” wall of every Chanel Le Vernis nail polish color you could ever want—except it’s not in fact a “Double C,” but a mirror illusion trick.

For opening weekend, Chanel celebrity makeup artist (and the talent behind Chanel spokesperson Keira Knightley’s red-carpet looks), Kate Lee, was on hand to show us how she uses the 29 just-launched Rouge Coco lipstick shades—and to give us some insider makeup tricks, too.
