Cara Delevingne Wore This $7 Lipstick on the Red Carpet Last Night
It’s kind of unbelievable to say—considering that just a year ago, Cara Delevingne was arguably the most in-demand model of the moment—but dare we declare that she’s never looked better? As the actress has made the press rounds for her role in Suicide Squad over the past several days, every single red carpet look has been more phenomenal than the last. But her peak thus far may have been last night, at the New York premiere of the film. A gunmetal winged eye, bold red lip, and deep-parted lob (not to mention her signature thick arches) are a lot to wear all at once, but somehow everything came together flawlessly.
The best part? You can find every product responsible for this makeup look at your local drugstore. Keep reading to see exactly how makeup artist Romy Soleimani did it—and how Jen Atkin styled those glossy locks, too.
Soleimani began by prepping Delevingne’s skin with Rimmel’s BB Cream ($7) to even out her skin tone, followed by a layer of the brand’s Stay Matte Foundation ($5). She then gave the actress a subtle glow with the Kate Sculpting & Highlight Kit in Gold Sands ($7), using the deepest hue in the palette to sculpt her cheekbones and adding just a touch of the blush.
As for Delevingne’s lips, Soleimani used two different shades: She started with Rimmel’s Provocalips 16-hr Kissproof Lip Color in Kiss Me You Fool ($7) as a base, followed by a swipe of the brand’s The Only 1 Lipstick in Call Me Crazy ($7). And those amazing metallic eyes? That’s actually the result of pressing loose glitter with Rimmel’s Exaggerate Auto Waterproof Eye Definer ($7) in both Earl Grey and Blackest Black.
For Delevingne’s retro-inspired lob, Atkin began blow-drying her hair smooth and then used a two-inch curling iron to create loose waves before brushing them out. She then used her Ouai Hair Oil ($28) along the first two inches of the actress’s roots before topping it with a bit of gel for that sleek look.
To create the appearance of a fuller part, she then dusted some of Color Wow’s Root Cover Up ($35) and finished the look off with a dose of hair spray.
