Earlier this month, model and actress Cara Delevingne penned an essay for Time's Motto site reflecting on her break from modeling. She recalls being 20 years old—after nearly four years in the modeling business—and wanting to "reevaluate my life and my goals for my future." Delevingne famously pushed her modeling career aside in 2012 to pursue acting and recently debuted her Saint Laurent campaign via Instagram, surprising many who had thought she had quit modeling for good.

Delevingne took to twitter to clarify to the world that she had never actually "quit" modeling, but instead felt that she needed a break due to a very personal issue. "I suffer from depression, and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self-hatred," she shared. And while says she knows how lucky she is to be able to model, she admits working in the industry in order to "try and escape," only to end up feeling exhausted.

The bold-browed beauty is known for being candid, and she has been vocal about mental illness in the past. Delevingne concluded her series of tweets by saying, "I am focusing on filming and trying to learn how to not pick apart my every flaw. I am really good at that."
