Best of Cannes
Kirsten Dunst made the rounds at Cannes in support of boyfriend Garrett Hedlund’s highly anticipated Coen Brothers film, Inside Llewyn Davis. Hairstylist Giannandrea used Kerastase's Mousse Volumactive ($35) and Ecru New York's Acacia Protein Oil ($30) for texture. “The key to this particular bun is to divide the hair into two sections,” he says. “Twist them into each other to make one single bun and you must secure it as you wrap, with short straight pins, both long and small.”
Solange accessorized her white jumpsuit with Giorgio Armani’s Lip Maestro ($32) in Tibetan Orange for Chanel’s Cannes party with Vanity Fair.
Rooney Mara’s in Cannes to celebrate the premiere of Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, her new film with Casey Affleck, but she’s also celebrating beauty news: the actress is the new face of Calvin Klein Downtown, their latest fragrance. It’s safe to assume she’s wearing it from one red carpet to the next.
Kroes’ pristine white Calvin Klein gown provided the perfect backdrop for L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Luminous Lipstick ($10) in British Red.
A parade of sleek, center parts marched down spring’s runways, so Joan Smalls is already familiar with this look. But the model’s hairstylist, Johnnie Sapong, fought the humidity of Cannes by combing Leonor Greyl’s Serum de Soie ($44) into her scalp and spritzing the brand’s Huile Secret de Beauté ($66) on top for added shine.
Freida Pinto wore L’Oreal’s Infallible Le Rouge Lipstick ($10) in Refined Ruby to the premiere of Young & Beautiful.
Makeup artist Christophe Danchaud was inspired by Marion Cotillard’s ‘60s bouffant (built by hairstylist Robert Vetica). “I wanted to keep the makeup fresh to modernize the look,” he said. To make Tarte’s Waterproof Eyeliner ($19) in Navy really pop, he coated the ends of Cotillard’s lashes with Dior’s Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum Primer ($28) and coated them in Kjaer Weis’ Eye Shadow ($) in Blue Wonder. “The navy was more youthful and flirty; black would’ve completely changed the feel.”
