Just when you thought her sister, Rooney, was the edgy one, Kate Mara stepped it up big time when she arrived at the Max Mara Women in Film event earlier this year with this super-short cut. Courtesy of stylist Mara Roszak, the piecey, textured pixie cut succeeded in more than just shock value. We think it perfectly frames the actress’s face—come on, look at those cheekbones!
Thanks to trusty old Instagram, we first heard of Seyfried’s major chop when she posted a pic of her dog, Finn, donning her freshly cut hair. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long before she showed us the actual cut. Thanks to hairstylist Clede Tomoko, the actress’s simple, blunt cut achieved exactly what a haircut, in theory, should: a chic, fresh upgrade. Oh, and did we mention she donated the inches to Locks of Love? Bonus points.

Though Beyoncé changes up her hair just about as often as Kylie Jenner does, we thought this stunning, flaxen, blunt bob (spotted early this year at the Vanity Fair Oscars party) at the very least deserves a shout-out.

Remember when Kim Kardashian debuted platinum blond locks in Paris this past March? The fresh, cool-toned hue, courtesy of colorist Lori Goddard for Goddard + Bragg Salon in Los Angeles, was short-lived, but we definitely don’t think that made it any less memorable.

From spring breaker to sultry sophisticate, we think Benson’s new brunette ’do totally transforms her.
Princess no more! The Cinderella (and Downton Abbey) star ditched her fairy-tale golden locks for an edgier, more current, rich auburn shade, thanks to L.A.-based stylist Ashley Streicher.
When the supermodel showed up to the American Music Awards with her long locks replaced by a dramatic blunt bob, we were, for lack of a better word, stunned. Though we liked the look, we were definitely relieved to hear that the bob was just a case of hair trickery, and her long blond waves remained intact. Either way, we think this wins the title as the most convincing faux bob of all time.

Though her darker, less polished tresses certainly proved more fitting for her role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games series, Lawrence's new platinum cropped ’do slays on the red carpet and takes her to a whole new level of stunning. (Editor tip: To keep platinum locks shiny and vibrant, use a toning shampoo like Joico’s Color Endure Violet Shampoo, $16, once a week.)

The actress parted ways with Anastasia Steele's signature long, dark hair back in April, when she debuted a fresh, blunt bob. But her itch for a hair-volution must have not been satiated with the cut alone, because she showed up in August with a majorly lightened locks—complete with some complementary, face-framing baby highlights.
