After Miu Miu’s F/W 13 show, models hit the Paris streets to show off their braided twists. Copying this modern rendition requires three things: tons of shine, a sharp side part, and hidden ends.

Stefani rocked double buns while performing a reunion show with No Doubt on NBC’s Today Show. To cop the look, make a deep part and twist a knot on the side of your head, then pull the rest of your hair into a messy bun in the back—don’t forget the red lip!

One of the early adopters, Cyrus paired her provocative performance at this year’s VMAs in Brooklyn with two twists on the top of her head. You might not plan on twerking like Miley, but you’ll still want a heavy mist of hairspray to hold your buns in place.

Ora isn’t one to shy away from bold beauty trends, in fact, she makes two buns look downright demure while out and about in London. The key to her casual look is the messy texture: add in a heavy amount of dry texture spray, like Chi’s Infra Texture Hair Spray ($15) before reaching for an elastic.

Moe, violinist for The Dolls, wore two matching buns to an event in Chicago. Add a texture powder to hair before styling to give grip to shorter locks.

The other half of The Dolls, Moretti also embraces the style on the regular, this time leaving a nightclub in Los Angeles. Pull your hair into pigtails, then braid and wrap into buns to get the look.

Perry wore high, full twists to a concert in Las Vegas. Try adding thickness to your locks with hair donuts, like Conair’s set of two Bun Makers ($7), then mist on Not Your Mother’s Rise and Shine Silky Smooth Shine Mist ($6) for a glossy finish.

One part Princess Leia, one part ‘90s club kid, double buns are having a big moment. We attribute it to Miu Miu’s F/W 13 runway where Guido Palau gave models glossy, deep side-parted, plaited twists. Like all daring beauty trends—long nails, rainbow hair—the musician set was the first to take notice: everyone from Gwen Stefani to Miley Cyrus have jumped on board. But you don’t have to be on stage to pull it off—you’ll find seven variations to try, above.
