“I try not to over wash my face,” Adams says, explaining why she skips cleanser and makes do with a “quick rinse” in the morning.” Perhaps not surprisingly, the pale redhead always wears sunscreen. “I’ve been wearing L’Oreal’s Sublime ($11),” she says.
“I tend to wear muted tones of eyeliner, like a champagne or taupe, for a more natural look,” Adams says. “I like to wear black for the red carpet, but in life it’s a little severe.”
Dry skin and frequent travel are a brutal combination; Adams fights back with Jurlique’s Rose Water Mist ($34). “They make it in a travel size that I always take on the airplane,” says Adams.
After moisturizer and sunscreen, Adams will add a bit of Jouer’s Luminizing Moisture Tint ($38) before she heads out the door. “Unless I’m working, I tend to keep it to a minimum to give my skin a break,” she says. She does, however, wear Benefit’s Bad Gal Lash ($19) Mascara. “I have really long lashes, but they’re very fine so I find that lengthening or volumizing mascaras tend to clump on me--this really separates my lashes.”
Adams uses Redken’s All Soft Shampoo ($17) and Conditioner ($18) and smoothes Moroccan Oil ($39) into her ends post-shower. “I’d love to blame it on my daughter, but the truth is I’ve always been a wash-and-go kind of girl,” says the actress. “Plus, I find that if you don’t over-style it all the time, it looks really great when it is styled!”
When Adams was growing up in Colorado she used Skin Trip ($11) everyday. “I just recently smelled it on someone in Boston and I actually tracked it down on this man at the gym and was like, ‘I know that smell!’” So she logged onto Amazon and bought “tons of it.”
When asked what she’s learned from long-time makeup artist Stephen Sollitto, Adams doesn’t hesitate: “If you do your eyes before your face makeup you can be a little--not sloppy, but have more freedom,” she says. “Then you can use a makeup removing cloth to remove whatever’s fallen and then do your face makeup.”
